My Service Was Turned Off
If your Lifeline service was turned off, contact your phone or internet company to find out why.
You can lose your discount for these common reasons:
- You did not recertify your Lifeline benefit
If you need to recertify, you must do so within 60 days, or you will lose your Lifeline benefit. - You no longer qualify
If your income increases or you no longer participate in the government assistance program that you signed up with, you will lose the Lifeline benefit (or your service will be turned off). - You have not used your Lifeline service
Lifeline rules require that you use your service every 30 days. If you do not use your Lifeline service for 30 days, you will receive a notice from your Lifeline provider that you must use your service within the next 15 days. If you do not use your service after receiving the 15-day notice from your Lifeline provider, your service may be turned off.

If you lose your benefit, you can re-apply to get Lifeline.
