Low Income

Step 7: Payment Process and Status

Low Income support is paid each month based on a projection calculated by USAC. Once USAC receives an eligible telecommunications carrier's (ETC's) actual support claim on the Lifeline and Link Up Worksheet (Form 497), it will "true up" the projected amount against the actual support claim.

This administrative practice, which was implemented in 2000, benefits ETCs by allowing them to receive a monthly support payment without requiring that they submit a Form 497 each month.

The Low Income disbursement tool enables companies to use various search methods to locate payment data for any month beginning with January 2004.

If you have questions regarding the status of a Low Income disbursement, a remittance statement, or an invoice received, please contact the Billing, Collections, and Disbursement Department at 888-641-8722.

If you have questions about how a disbursement was calculated, please contact USAC's High Cost and Low Income Division at 866-873-4727 or questions@hcli.universalservice.org.
